This week it's Malvern's turn to receive Stan's Deli and Sandwiches,serving New York-inspired hot and cold rolls,Small Batch Coffee,and deli products such as Chappy's chips,StrangeLove sodas and Birdsnake chocolate.
The team has good credentials. Alex Gavioli is ex-Moby,Aaron Trotman works for cult alcohol-free wine brandNON,which will be sold in the deli;Guy Bentley part-ownsLeonardo's Pizza Palace,and Todd Vanneste is behindFrankie's Tortas&Tacos and Weekdays Design Studio,which is responsible for Stan's minimalist fitout in checked green tiles.
They're charging into the bread boom,offering all the trending favourites – mortadella,provolone,olive and artichoke;an eggplant parma and a strong-sounding entry into the chicken sandwich wars,with condiments including salted green tomatoes,swiss gruyere and herb mayo. A pork and fennel breakfast muffin with curried egg and cheese has intrigue,too.
