With its atmospheric farmhouse fitout,three-winery cellar door,greatest-hits breakfast list (Benedict,muesli,baked beans) and decent coffee,it’s not surprising the Merricks Store packs ’em in. But lunch is the real attraction. Chef Chris Roberts turns out nicely judged,clean-flavoured dishes – a superb warm chicken salad,spicy steamed local mussels,addictive chicken and leek pot pie – that are among the region’s best.
