There's something lazy and languishing about Pier Provedore with its communal table that's strewn with copies of Gourmet Traveller and surrounded by shelves of quality dry goods. With a wicker and wood fitout,it's homely and modern at the same time. A blackboard menu offers breakfasts of panettone French toast or bruschetta with local tomatoes,basil,feta and poached egg. Lunch might be a house-made beef and burgundy pie with Red Hill Kitchen tomato sauce,or chicken and rice soup made to grandma's recipe,or just a simple baguette with brie,quince paste and cornichons.
