To paraphrase Humphrey Bogart or Hilary Duff,this is the stuff dreams are made of. Sitting on the deck of a white-washed cottage overlooking the ocean. Golden sands and bright blue waves. An ice-cold Gimlet in hand. It’s enough to validate the career choices of an Instagram influencer.

Happily,the food more than matches the view,starting with barbecued octopus with a smoky romesco that’s big,bold and delightfully rustic. King crab spaghetti swimming in rich,emulsified butter sauce and topped with trout roe is all things bright and beautiful,while roast duck with syrupy sour cherries,caramelised witlof and flavour-packed jus gras is on hand to pair with something French and red from the impressive wine list.

Cap it all off with a lemon and pistachio ice-cream sandwich in a sweet,taco-shaped pastry shell with burnt meringue and basil. Picture perfect.
