Built in 1893,this imposing site was intended to be a pub,but the idea got buried under a mountain of protests. Thank goodness the locals don't feel the same way about coffee. Now Revolver has become one of the hubs of Annandale social life,with beautifully handled coffee ($3.20) from Morgan's Handcrafted Coffee roasters. The kitchen rocks,with great cakes,nine-hour slow-roasted lamb bruschetta and a spot-on parmesan scrambled eggs with sumac bacon and fennel. Even tea lovers get a boost with the Boost - echinacea,Siberian ginseng and yuzu citron honey,served with an hourglass for correct steeping time.
