"As you have probably seen/heard Tom Scully is going to GWS. The Club was advised a short time ago and will respond later today,"said the Demons on their twitter account.
Scully and members of his family flew from Melbourne to meet with GWS on Sunday,at which time Scully again strongly denied speculation a deal with the Giants was effectively done.
"I’m just going up to have a look around ... I’m going up with an open mind, just go up and meet a few people and see what happens from there,"he told Channel Nine’sThe Footy Show.
"No,I haven’t (signed) - just go up and have a look."
The 20-year-old midfielder had been the No.1 recruiting target for GWS.
TheHerald Sun reported the six-year deal was worth an estimated $6 million. Others suggest the sum is closer to $5 million, but either way it’s comfortably in excess of what Melbourne could offer.
