Late last week Moody announced that Mornington horseman David Brideoake would take control of the stable during his six-month ban. But it seemed the new training arrangement would have proved unworkable with the large Caulfield team now being dispersed.
"It is with much regret and a heartfelt decision that I have to inform you that I'm going to recant my suggestion on Friday where I said I would be back training in six months,"Moody said.
"After a lot of deliberation with my family and senior management staff we didn't feel it was going to be a workable proposition to employ another trainer for six months..
"Racing Victoria worked with us looking at putting it together, and it would've been possible but I just felt it was going to be very hard to make it workable and do the best by yourselves as the clients and more importantly by your horses.
"With this in mind I made the ultimate decision that at this point in time I will not be returning to the training of racehorses in the foreseeable future."
Moody thanked his wife (Sarah) and his senior staff for the assistance over the years which have reaped four Victorian premierships for the huge stable.
He said he would continue to work with clients to assist with the transferring of horses to other stables in the coming days. His suspension commences on Thursday.
