Peanut butter and chocolate go together like, well, peanuts and chocolate. It's a fabulous combination that deserves to be celebrated in more than just chocolate bars.
4 cups milk
¼ cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
½ cup smooth peanut butter
½ cup chopped milk chocolate
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp caster sugar (optional)
Whipped cream,to serve
1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan, reserving a few pieces of milk chocolate for garnish, and whisk over medium heat until warm and steaming and completely combined. Stand for a few minutes, then whisk again.
2. Transfer to cups to serve, then top with whipped cream and grate over a bit of the reserved chocolate using a rasp grater.
Adam's tip Dutch-process cocoa powder has gone through a process of "dutching"by being washed in a potassium solution to remove acids. It is less sour and much darker than ordinary cocoa powders. It's readily available in supermarkets so look for it on labels.
