The damage bill to replace or repair the sets came in at $28,997.95.
Child Safety Minister Di Farmer said many young people in youth detention had experienced significant disadvantage,often including drug misuse,violence,neglect,sexual abuse and mental health struggles.
"Unfortunately when some of them become agitated or frustrated,any equipment can be an easy target,"she said.
"The behaviour of juvenile detainees is continually monitored and assessed,and staff provide programs and services aimed at addressing issues around anger,frustration and impulse control."

Ms Farmer said when equipment was damaged,young people could be referred to police if necessary,and they were held accountable for their actions.
LNP Shadow Attorney-General David Janetzki said the children needed a lesson about consequences.
