Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was expected to release a Queensland Law Reform report into decriminalising abortion on Monday after cabinet met that day.
Abortion remains in the Criminal Code in Queensland, after two bills proposed by former independentMP Rob Pyne were withdrawn in 2017.
At that time, the issue was referred to the Queensland Law Reform Commission, which was asked to draft legislation.
Ms Frecklington said it was a highly emotive issue and she would ask for a briefing from the QLRC.

"Our party has strong views on it[abortion],many of our members have strong views on it,and that's reflective of the general public,"she said.
"I do think I need to give my party members an opportunity to see what is in the legislation before we make any rash statements."
