"I don't have a problem with electric vehicles,"Mr Morrison said."My problem is the leader of the Labor Party who wants to be PM in a couple of months doesn't understand his own policy. If he can't understand it how can anyone else understand it."
Mr Morrison accused Mr Shorten of misleading voters by saying last week that"it can take,it depends what the original charge is,but it can take eight to 10 minutes"to charge an electric car.

Current models replenish a battery in eight to ten hours although many electric vehicle owners charge their cars overnight,meaning that while it is being driven the battery can be recharged in a matter of minutes,rather than hours.
Mr Morrison likened the Opposition Leader's comments to former Liberal Party leader John Hewson's infamous 1993 birthday cake moment,when Mr Hewson struggled to clearly explain whether his proposal for a GST would apply to birthday cakes.
"Bill Shorten is declaring war on the weekend when it comes to electric vehicles,"Mr Morrison said."The price premium of electric vehicles is $23,000 more than conventionally fuelled vehicles."
Labor would invest $200 million in its electric vehicle target,half of which would go towards charging stations and the remainder to encouraging a greater number of cheaper products.
