This decision, which affects up to 40 employees, comes amid intense pressures on regional television broadcasters which are struggling to manage declining viewership and lower advertising revenues with the costs of producing news. WIN broadcasts in 29 markets across Australia and the other news bulletins have not been affected.
However, the choice has now cost the regional broadcaster potentially millions of dollars in advertising revenue from the NSW Nationals.
NSW Nationals state director Ross Cadell said in a statement that the party was"concerned"by the reports of the shut downs and would pull its advertising from the broadcaster as a result.

"Rural and regional people need strong and diverse media coverage and moves to reduce those services will only weaken our communities,"Mr Cadell said.
"In the first six months of this year we spent close to $3 million advertising on regional television in NSW,but as of this moment I have instructed our party to immediately cease all advertising with WIN TV until they reverse this decision,"he said.
Political advertisting in 2019 was dramatically boosted thanks to the Federal election and a NSW state election.
