Mr Tate said on Saturday that Jones would be out of a job if he repeated the comments.
"Notwithstanding his apologies,I have today discussed the matter with Alan and advised him that any recurrence of commentary of this nature will result in the termination of his contract,"Mr Tate said.

Jones said he had also written a letter of apology to Ms Ardern.
"My comments were careless and they should have been more clearly thought and to that extent I have erred and made a mistake,"Jones said on 2GB,which is owned by Macquarie Media,on Friday afternoon."I was wrong and I apologise."
Ms Ardern had earlier brushed off his remarks.
"I don't know that I'm going to give that the light of day,that comment. I think I'll just leave it where it is,"she said.
