"Much of the media is white and we're not all white,"Ms Buttrose said on ABC Radio National on Tuesday morning.
Ms Buttrose said the issue of ethnic diversity was one for all corporate leaders.
"Let's look at diversity. Do we have enough Asian representation? Should we have some Asians on the board? Do we have enough Middle Eastern representation? Should we have Middle Eastern representation on the board? Many Australians are not represented well enough and it's about time we change that."
Anyone in government who thinks the Australian people do not believe in climate change is absolutely blinkered in their thinking.

The ABC recently started an Australia Talks poll,in partnership with the University of Melbourne and Vox Pop Labs,to get a sense of the broader country's opinions on hot button issues.
Ms Buttrose said the findings were a"goldmine"that would allow the broadcaster better insights into how to serve its audiences.
Preliminary results show the majority of Australians would be happier if they spent more time in nature, believed those in country areas were getting a"raw deal",wanted more Indigenous justice and saw climate change as a significant concern.
