The 20-year-old man, confirmed to have COVID-19 on Tuesday,is isolated in a stable condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and his housemate had an anxious day-long wait.
However,Queensland Health confirmed on Wednesday night the test result was negative, but the housemate would return to his Toowong home to self-quarantine for 14 days.
The test results came as Queensland Health urgently worked to contact people on the same flight as a 26-year-old man who became Queensland's eleventh coronavirus case on Wednesday.

The man, from Logan south of Brisbane, flew into Brisbane International Airport on Wednesday,February 26.
He then presented to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital on Monday and was placed into quarantine in a stable condition.
"He had been unwell prior to catching that flight from Iran, which means we’ve asked the national incident room for the manifest of the flight he was on,so we can contact-trace the people who were sitting two rows in front of him,two rows behind, and to either side,"Dr Young said.
