The Crime and Corruption Commissionrecommended the law changes after Ms Trad failed to declare the purchase of the house by her family's trust within the required time frame.
Ms Trad said she had discussed the purchase with the Registrar for Members’ Interests, but it took a few weeks to put it in writing.
Ms Trad previously said she wasunaware her husband,Damien van Brunschot, had bought the house, and said she found out later via text message.
At the time of purchase, she had ministerial responsibility for the Cross River Rail project. The house lies along the Cross River Rail route.
"I want to place on record my apology to my husband,Damien,"Ms Trad told Parliament.
"Damien has been unjustifiably demonised through this whole episode and for that and to him,I simply say ‘sorry’.
"I am proud of my husband:raised in a single-income household in Toowoomba, the success he has achieved in his life has only been achieved through his own hard work and determination."
