It was met on Thursday witha torrent of criticism from media outlets and transparency advocates. On Friday,Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath issued a short statement saying the bill would be withdrawn as there was not enough time for the parliamentary legal affairs committee to examine the proposal before the next sitting.
On Saturday morning, the Premier confirmed the bill was dead and buried and would not be returning under her leadership.
In a brief press conference after aVictory in the Pacific commemorative ceremony at Anzac Square,Ms Palaszczuk said she took"full responsibility"while stressing the recommendation came from the CCC.

"In relation to that,it was a CCC recommendation. It came from the CCC. It was not from the government,"she said.
"Obviously now the government has no intention of pursuing that and we will not be pursuing that if we are successful in the next election as well. It's off the table completely. I take full responsibility for it."
The Premier said she accepted there were"legitimate concerns"about the bill and"as far as I'm concerned that's the end of the issue".
