However having showed his class in his comeback match against Hawthorn,he has other clubs interested. Geelong and Brisbane are monitoring him closely,while Sydney are a likely suitor after trying to secure him at the end of last season.
The free agency and trade period does not start until October 30 however clubs will be making significant decisions this month even with uncertainty surrounding the total player payments and list sizes.
"Things start to move once you finish the season.[Daniher] knows exactly where he stands from my point of view and the footy club's point of view,"Rutten said.
He said it was difficult to know whether Daniher would stay but that he respected the resilience the injury-prone forward has shown in the past two seasons.
"I think the way he has fought back and hung in there in the last two years has been really difficult for him and that level of commitment and work to get himself back,"Rutten said.
The Bombers are waiting on decisions from Daniher and running defender Adam Saad who has been slow to commit beyond 2020 as negotiations continue. Midfielder Andrew McGrath,sidelined with an ankle injury,is expected to
re-sign.
