Fans took to Twitter about the race to obtain general public tickets, which went on sale at 9am on Tuesday, with one who wrote:"always knew it would be the hottest ticket in town!"
Those who were at the ready, armed with a computer and their credit card details, managed to get tickets when they jumped online at 9am.
But those who were not quick enough were added to an online queue.
"Been trying since I got out of the stupid queue, there’s no chance now also seen a few people who aren’t supporters of either teams getting tickets just because and I’m so mad and upset[right now],"one said.
"I know a guy at the office who jumped online at 9.01am and got two tickets great seats for $434 each ... I jumped on 10 minutes later and got caught in the big queue and missed out but that’s okay! Well done AFL Queensland!!! P.S nether of our teams are playing,"another said.
