The NRL said Radley had breached the game’s code of conduct by tackling the man, adding Radley also failed to report the incident to the integrity unit. The governing body was informed by the Roosters, who were said to be told of the incident from “a third party”.

Radley will not be appealing the sanction.

The NRL said Radley has since apologised for his actions with 50 per cent of the sanction suspended for 12 months. He must also complete an education program.

On Saturday,Dragons star Corey Normanhad his sanction halved after a face-to-face meeting with NRL boss Andrew Abdo.

Norman was handed the same punishment as Radley after being involved in a brawl on the street on Cronulla in January.

The sanction was later halved to just $10,000 and a one-game suspension after Norman argued he acted purely in self defence.

Norman alleged the brawl was sparked after fellow player James Segeyaro was racially abused by the group. The pair also alleged a man threatened to pull out a knife, but the NRL investigation could find no evidence of a weapon being involved.

On Tuesday,Norman’s teammates raised concerns over the NRL’s decision not to scrap the sanction, labelling the decision by the governing body as “scary”.

Dragons fullback Matt Dufty said he had found himself in similar situations in the past and was concerned NRL players would now become public targets.

“I’ve been at breakfast with the missus a few times, and people come up and say what they want and there’s no repercussion for them,” Dufty said. “But if I was to stand up and have a go at him or whatnot,I’d be all over the front page. So it is hard in that sense.”
