It is almost certain that the general public will not be able to secure access to these games, with all available seats likely to be sold after club members are given their window to purchase tickets.
Sales to the general public will only be conducted if there is remaining availability.
It will also result in significant home-crowd advantages for Richmond,Collingwood and Essendon, whose members will be prioritsed over those of the away club.
Even home club members will miss out in Essendon’s case. Marvel Stadium’s crowd cap of 28,961 is a far cry from the Bombers’ membership tally, which neared 70,000 last year.
Essendon made a case for the game to be moved to the MCG,but were denied by the AFL.
The Bombers join Collingwood in sectioning members into three different priority classes, who will each have a two-hour window to secure tickets.
First priority members can acquire tickets from 1pm on Tuesday, second priority from 3pm and third priority from 5pm.
