Acting Queensland Chief Health Officer Sonya Bennett said genomic testing confirmed the cases were linked and CCTV would be reviewed to see how the virus was transmitted inside the hotel.
She said both positive patients were staying on level 1 of the hotel but their rooms were not close to one another.

“This virus,we know it can be transmitted through opening doors et cetera,we have seen that.”
Asked if any more positive cases would send Brisbane back into lockdown,Dr Bennett said she did not perceive there was a risk to the community at this stage.
“Depending on what we see[from more tests results] will inform what our advice will be and I can’t pre-empt that,” she said.
“Certainly with the healthcare worker in the hospital we haven’t seen any positive cases yet and that is a good sign.”
