Lin Jong will also come out of the Dogs’ side due to an injured hamstring.
While the Bulldogs’ prized Next Generation Academy recruit Ugle-Hagan has lit up the VFL and practice matches with prolific goal-kicking and high marking, the club has an embarrassment of riches showing strong form at seconds level.
Rhylee West (25 disposals three goals) is in excellent touch,Pat Lipinski played well (35 touches and one goal) in the VFL last week too, while Laitham Vandermeer is also an AFL-level player being forced to bide his time as a back-up.
Josh Schache is also showing good form in the VFL and in defence Buku Khamis is another who the Dogs would love to expose to AFL level for the first time. He was named as an emergency for the Giants game.
Schache kicked five goals two rounds ago in the VFL and one this past week, while Ugle-Hagan kicked two and four in the same games. The Dogs’ best forward from 2020,Mitch Wallis, remains in the reserves too.
Bulldogs great Brad Johnson said on the weekend that Ugle-Hagan would be even better when he was being hit up by the likes of Marcus Bontempelli and Jack Macrae.
