The corporate citizenship director at consultancy firm KPMG came back to work when her son Conor,3,was nine months old and has recently returned to full-time employment.
She and her husband Rory are originally from Ireland and have no family support to fall back on,so they rely entirely on paid childcare.
Because their household earnings are too high to receive the child care subsidy,she had to carefully consider the cost of returning to work full time.
“If we had two children in childcare,I don’t know if we would have made the same decision,” she said.
“I feel very strongly about improving child care.
“It’s one of the ways we can support women to return to work.
