Although he is tight-lipped over a final destination that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill cranking into gear with several clubs, including Premiers Plate winner Melbourne City, being linked with the 30-year-old.
Speaking from Dubai on Monday, the winger/forward explained that regular game time, which he has lacked this season,is crucial.
“That will be a part of my decision. For me what’s important is to be playing consistently and playing every week when available. Then it’s up to me to perform and keep my spot,” Leckie said.
Meanwhile,Australian midfielder Kenny Dougall defied his coach’s advice to take centre stage at Wembley overnight on Sunday, scoring two goals to help his club Blackpool win through to the English Championship.
The defensive midfielder, who has spent the last seven years in Europe, became the first player from his country to score two goals in a Wembley final as Blackpool came from a goal down to defeat Lincoln City in the League One playoff.
