Ms Palaszczuk said it was her intention to go and give the presentation in person, but that was dependent on circumstances.
“It will either be myself and the Lord Mayor[Adrian Schrinner] going,or it will be[Tourism and Sport Minister] Stirling Hinchliffe and the Deputy Mayor[Krista Adams],” the Premier said.
“This is incredibly important, there will be two representatives there from Queensland to ensure that the final finishing line is crossed successfully.”
Queensland was in the box seat for the 2032 games, after it was declared the “preferred bidder” and now with the vote of confidence from the IOC board.
Ms Palaszczuk recently got her first shot of the Pfizer vaccine in preparation for travel to Tokyo.
She pre-emptively explained at the time that she wasn’t getting the AstraZeneca vaccine because there was a shorter time between doses required for Pfizer, and angrily hit out at critics who said she should have been vaccinated sooner.
The Premier maintained there were medical reasons for her not getting her jab sooner, including having to get both a tetanus shot and a flu vaccine, both of which required space from both COVID vaccines.
