“It’s very hard to play good footy for the whole 22 rounds in the season,” Goodwin said.
“There were periods in the last six weeks where we would have liked to have played better.
“The one thing I’m proud of with our footy club is our ability to stay calm.
“There were people starting to doubt us,starting to question whether we were going to continue to our form.
“Internally there’s a lot of belief in our game and the way we play.″
The Demons’ defence,described by Goodwin as “the DNA of our game”,has rarely wavered but their goal-scoring prowess had been questioned.
But against the Power,Melbourne looked dangerous and multi-pronged in attack,with best-afield Christian Petracca,Tom McDonald and resurgent livewire Kysaiah Pickett bagging three goals each and Bailey Fritsch,Luke Jackson and the recalled Ben Brown presenting powerfully.
