An AFL spokesman would not comment on any specific investigation but said the league strongly condemned racial vilification at all levels of the sport.
“If there is a complaint under the Peek rule relating to racial vilification strict confidentiality applies throughout that process until a confidential process is completed,” the statement said.
Rule 35 or the Peek rule relating to racial vilification,which was introduced in 1995 after Essendon championMichael Long was racially vilified in a match against Collingwood,wasupdated this year.
The Crows have been embroiled in several controversial incidents in recent seasons including acontroversial pre-season camp in 2018.
Adelaide declined to comment on that matter and referredThe Age to the AFL.
