Luke Beveridge’s side will remain in Tasmania until Friday before heading to Queensland to confront the Lions at the Gabba. The match has been locked in for Saturday but the AFL is yet to announce a timeslot for the game.
Because the Bulldogs have come from Victoria before heading to the Apple Isle, they will not be allowed to leave their rooms once they get to their hotel in Brisbane.
Beveridge said the Dogs were therefore keen for the match to be played as early as possible on Saturday so that they don’t need to wait around. The last afternoon AFL semi-final was in 2001.

“I think the AFL are trying to look after the clubs who are playing. And one of the considerations is,when we’re flying to Brisbane,we won’t be able to leave our hotel room,” Beveridge said.
“So when we fly in Friday, and we’re obviously playing Saturday. We’d like to think that game is earlier than a night game, otherwise we’ll be in the hotel the whole day. We’ll deal with, but ideally you’re not. So we’ll see what happens.”
In any case,it appears unlikely ruckman Stefan Martin, who hasn’t played at AFL level since round 12 because of injury, will confront his former club.
