The cases have put risk-averse authorities on high alert, given the growing outbreaks in southern states and tight border restrictions to try to stop any spread into Queensland, even if largely considered inevitable.
The department had warned more sites could be listed throughout the day. Within hours,a Puma service station at Bundamba,a suburb of Ipswich, was also identified.
Fresh sites were identified late on Thursday including three stores across Beenleigh – a Total Tools, the Beenleigh Marketplace Shopping Centre and Stylish Nails inside the centre – as having been visited by one of the cases on August 29 and 30.
Areas of the BP service station at Archerfield,at the corner of Randolph and Boundary streets, were identified as close and casual contact risks on Thursday,August 26.
Portions of Goondiwindi’s BP truck stop,on the Cunningham Highway, have also been listed as close and casual sites between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on August 26,along with the Coolabah Tree Cafe on Boundary Road.
In Bundamba, the food court of the Puma site at the corner of Ashburn Road and Hawkins Crescent has been classified a close contact site between 1.20pm and 2.25pm. The rest of the service station has been deemed a casual risk.
