“Dale comes to our club highly-regarded for his extensive coaching experience,but also for his clear communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships to maximise players’ talent,” Mahoney said.

“We’ve seen the work he has done with Brisbane’s successful midfield brigade and his ability to help the development of younger players will be very beneficial at our club for our emerging playing list.”

There are several clubs looking to fill assistant coaching positions with Geelong and Carlton on the lookout.The Cats are looking to refresh the panel under Chris Scott,who is expected to remain as coach beyond 2022,while the Blues’ new coach Michael Voss will have a say in the panel of coaches he works with next season.

Collingwood are also looking for a head of development and an assistant coachafter Damian Carroll joined the Saints.
