Remarkably durable,Crisp has not missed a match since he was traded to Collingwood from Brisbane at the start of 2015,reeling off 163 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the AFL.

It marks the fourth time in Crisp’s career that he has finished in the top three of the Copeland Trophy.

He polled 90 votes to defeat Maynard (70 votes) and Pendlebury (67). Pendlebury missed the final four matches of the year but still finished in the top three for the 13th time in 16 seasons. Jordan De Goey missed two matches but was a close fourth (66 votes) after completing his most consistent season for the club.

De Goey’s form was strong from round eight onwards and he excelled as a midfielder in the back half of the year, while veteran Steele Sidebottom finished fifth and won the club’s pressure award despite being below his best. Ollie Henry won the best young player, and Brody Mihocek was the leading goalkicker for the third consecutive year after kicking 34 goals in 2021.

The Magpies have not had a player kick more than 40 goals in the home and away season since 2013.
