At last count,66 per cent of Queensland’s eligible population had received one vaccine dose and almost 48 per cent were fully vaccinated.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed she would attend the match and support South Sydney Rabbitohs over Penrith Panthers,due to coach Wayne Bennett’s Queensland connections.
“Yes,as long as there are no issues that arise this afternoon,it is my intention to attend,” she said.
“Can I say to people who are attending,you have to check in to the stadium,you have to wear your mask in there,and you can only remove your mask when you are seated if you are eating or drinking.”
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said almost 100,000 COVID tests had been carried out across the state in relation to the latest cluster in south-east Queensland.
“I can be confident that we don’t have community seeding,” she said.
