She was accused of knowingly giving a false testimony to the Crime and Corruption Commission about the hiring of Amy Borland as a temporary admin assistant in May 2016.
Ms Borland, who was hired at Broadbeach police station,is the daughter of retired Chief Superintendent Terry Borland, who was the second-most senior police officer on the Gold Coast.
Ms Stenner was accused of lying about conversations she had with ex-Chief Superintendent Borland,Inspector Simon Chase and Senior Sergeant Phil Notaro, who has also since retired.
Ms Stenner was filling in as chief superintendent at the time Ms Borland was put forward for the position, because Chief Superintendent Borland was on leave.
The evidence presented to the jury included recordings of Ms Stenner’s calls with Chief Superintendent Borland and Senior Sergeant Notaro, which the CCC intercepted from her phone.
The summary of the case was Chief Superintendent Borland forwarded Ms Stenner his daughter’s resume after asking her if there were any temporary admin positions available on the Gold Coast.
Ms Stenner then contacted the officer at Broadbeach station who was in charge of recruitment and told him she had found someone suitable to fill their vacancy for a temporary admin officer.
