The vaccination push from sports stars comes as theNRL works to accommodate a small number of players who continue to hold out against getting a COVID-19 jab.

The Raiders,Storm,Bulldogs,Panthers,Cowboys,Manly and the Titans have all flagged players who are vaccine hesitant.

So far,141 people have arrived in Queensland since border restrictions were eased for people flying into the state from interstate hotspots from5pm on Monday,after the 70 per cent vaccination milestone was reached.

On Wednesday,another 211 people were expected to arrive,with 1319 home quarantine border passes issued since Queensland hit 70 per cent.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said authorities were also working with arrivals from interstate hotspots to assess their eligibility to complete the rest of their quarantine period at home.

“Our hospital and health services have already identified more than 100 hotel quarantine guests who are eligible to undertake the remainder of their quarantine period at home and are working with many more to continue the work of assessing their eligibility,” she said.

About12,000 people are waiting to enter Queensland under the state’s border pass system.

This week,2020 silver medallist beach volleyballer Taliqua Clancy and boxer Brad Hore are also travelling through the state’s far north as part of the Olympics Unleashed program,visiting Thursday Island,Horn Island,Yarrabah and Lockhart River,where they will also spread the message to be vaccinated.

Ms Palaszczuk said the COVID pandemic was the greatest peacetime challenge Australia had faced.

“It is not a matter of if more cases will come to Queensland,but when,” she said.

“But we are not helpless - unlike other states,we have the ability to protect ourselves before an outbreak arrives.

“We can get vaccinated.”

In Queensland,82.75 per cent of people aged 16 or older have now received one dose of a COVID vaccine,while 71.07 per cent are double-jabbed.

There were 10,871 tests performed over the past 24 hours and 14,432 vaccines delivered by Queensland Health.

There was one new case detected in hotel quarantine.
