Forrest is also leading a multibillion-dollar push todiversify Fortescue into green hydrogen production and alternative energy.

In May,tech billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes prevailed over Forrest in a contest to acquire the collapsed Sun Cable mega-project in northern Australia from administrators.

Cannon-Brookes and Forrest had been vying for control of the collapsed entity and its plans to build the world’s largest solar and battery farm in a closed-doors sale process conducted by administrators FTI Consulting.
