Key defender Nathan Murphy is also unlikely to return until finals after he was diagnosed with a low-grade syndesmosis injury that will sideline him for two to three weeks.
Daicos looked set to claim the Brownlow Medal in just his second season, however the injuryhe suffered against Hawthorn means he will not poll votes for at least the last four rounds.
But his main concern will be returning in shape to play in Collingwood’s second finals match, either a semi-final or a preliminary final. The Magpies are two games clear on top of the ladder with three games remaining.

Collingwood football manager Graham Wright said Daicos had avoided surgery.
“We are disappointed for both Nathan and Nick who will unfortunately miss games through injury for an extended period,” Wright said.
“Both players underwent scans after our game last night which confirmed Nathan suffered a low-grade syndesmosis injury in his right ankle and is expected to miss the next two to three weeks, while Nick has a hairline fracture in the lateral tibial plateau of the right knee joint.
