Christine Morris is leaving Fortescue Metals after 90 days as CFO.
Morris reported to Hick in Fortescue’s metal business and started in the role on June 1 when she replaced her predecessor 12-year company veteran Ian Wells,who quit in January.
The Stanford graduate formerly worked as CFO at Maersk Drilling in Denmark after a long career in her native United States. After news of her appointment at Fortescue was made public she shared her delight with her LinkedIn followers.

“I look forward to working with a talented team and helping them achieve their vision.”
In a statement to the ASX after the close of markets,the company said its group manager of finance and tax,Apple Paget,had been appointed Fortescue Metals’ acting CFO.
The shock news came the day after Forrest explained Hick’s departure as part of an inevitable high turnover of senior executives in a company that is reinventing itself.
