“I see where Rugby Australia is at,a lot of that information can be applied. It’s not a cut-and-paste situation. You have to edit the programs and the ideas and the information and apply it to the rest of the country,and in Australia’s situation,there’s an Australian context that needs to be considered. “We are slightly differently structured,we have a federated system but there are lots of learnings that can be applied from each of those countries.”
Asrevealed by the masthead,Horne was officially named as Rugby Australia’s new Director of High Performance on Friday,and in a tandem announcement,RA also revealed former Brumbies coach and current Ireland Rugby Football Union supremo David Nucifora will also be returning in an advisory role in August,after the Paris Olympics.
Nucifora,61,has been performance director of Irish rugby since 2014 and was instrumental in helping the men’s side achieve the No.1 ranking for the first time in 2019 before the World Cup.
