Acting Justice Murray Kellam told the jury he understood if they felt tired and wanted a break, since they arrived at court about 9am,and agreed to send them home for the day.
The jury has been deliberating since about 10.30am on Wednesday last week.
They are considering a verdict for Mr Eastman,73,who has faced a marathon nearly six-month trial accused of murdering Canberra police chief Colin Winchester on January 10,1989.
The jury reported a stalemate on Monday but the judge encouraged them to continue deliberating.
They will return to the jury room Thursday to begin a seventh day of deliberations.
