Woman refused bail after being charged with husband’s murder at Epping

A woman has been charged with murder and refused bail after her husband was found dead in their home in Sydney’s north-west.

Police were called to the house on Damon Avenue in Epping about 11am on Saturday following a concern for welfare report.

“On arrival,police located the body of a man. While he is yet to be formally identified,he is believed to be aged in his 60s,” NSW Police said in a statement.

His wife,Nam Suk Back,60,was arrested at the scene and taken to Gladesville police station.

Police confirmed domestic violence was one line of inquiry for investigators.

Nine News reported the couple’s son also lived at the home and was in shock.

On Saturday night,the woman was charged with murder. She did not apply for bail in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday and it was formally refused. She did not appear in court.

Neighbours on the wide and leafy cul-de-sac said it was a quiet and multicultural area.

Anyone who has information about the incident is urged to contact Ryde police.

Back will appear in Burwood Local Court on July 3.
