Mackay also reached a record high on Monday recording 40 degrees,which is 1.5 degrees above the 1995 record while Mareeba exceeded is 2000 November record by .5 degree when it reached 39.5 degrees.
The all-time record for Cairns was recorded as 40.5 in December 1995,but on Monday Cairns recorded 42.6 degrees.
Innisfail also smashed all-time records on Monday and recorded 42 degrees,which breaks the December 1984 record of 40.3 degrees.
Mr Stoney said the heatwave was predicted to continue across northern and central until Saturday.
While Brisbane is not declared as being in a heatwave,it is recording temperatures well above the November average.
On Monday Brisbane City hit 34.5 degrees while Redcliffe reached 35.3 degrees.
