Urgent applications to the Family Court have surged by almost 40 per cent since the coronavirus pandemic hit,as families crumble under the pressures of social isolation,financial stress and family abuse.
A coalition of more than 60 legal organisations has urged the federal government to abandon its plan to scrap the Family Court as a stand-alone entity.
The peak body for the legal profession said the government had adopted a"stubborn and wrong-headed approach to family law"and should abandon its plans.
The planned inquiry is billed as an attempt to'bring men along',but is really nothing more than pandering to extremists.
