"We have empowered the event organisers to cancel the[overpriced] ticket and refuse entry to the person that holds it,"he said.
The new laws,which apply from June 1,also requires resellers such as Viagogo to show the original cost of the ticket as well as the seating details.
The penalty for selling tickets over the 10 per cent cap now carries a maximum $11,000 penalty for individuals and $22,000 for businesses.

"We’re empowering customers,we're empowering event organisers,and we're giving Fair Trading some real teeth to crack down on this dodgy practice,"he said.
However,the opposition spokeswoman for better regulation,Yasmin Catley,said the new legislation would not fix the problem.
"I warned the minister that this legislation was not going to resolve the problem with ticket bots and excessive prices that consumers are getting ripped off by,"she said.
