Jennifer Hawkins has finally confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets in the Australian fashion industry:she will end her relationship with Myer at the end of 2018.
Posting on her Instagram account on Thursday afternoon, the model and former Miss Universe said this season's launch and spring carnival would be her last as the face of the department store.
"Way back in 2006,I was approached by Myer to sign a small,three-month contract,"she wrote to her 875,000 followers.
"But after 12 years it's time to move onto a new chapter in my life ... Myer will always hold a special place in my heart."
On Friday,Myer's executive general manager marketing and customer,Louise Pearson, paid tribute to Hawkins, saying there would never again be another"face of Myer".
“In the modern Australian retail landscape,we don’t think there has been such a successful collaboration between ambassador and brand – one with the longevity, the authenticity and the resonance of Jennifer Hawkins and Myer,"she said.
Hawkins,34,is a major shareholder in the company and is behind a swimwear brand and a line of self-tanning products stocked at the retailer. She also owns a tequila business and a property portfolio with her builder husband,Jake Wall.
