Several sources have told theHerald that Mr Perrottet wants to move from his semi-rural seat of Hawkesbury to Castle Hill,which is one of the safest Liberal seats on 29.4 per cent.
"Dom has young kids and Hawkesbury is a big electorate so he wants to make it easier on his family,plus he wants a safer seat because as Treasurer he does not have a lot of time,"a senior Liberal said.
Powerbrokers want Mr Williams to retire to make way for Mr Perrottet,but Mr Williams is refusing to budge. He did not know about Mr Perrottet's plans until he read about them in the media.
Mr Perrottet's decision is causing friction within the party's factions,with key players using the planned move to make demands on other seats.

Mr Williams said he nominated for Castle Hill weeks ago and"was utterly committed"to recontesting the seat.
"This is an area I have lived all my life and I am 100 per cent committed to recontesting,"he said.
