Geelong are currently sitting at the top of the ladder,having won 12 games so far this season,but the Cats haven't played a final on their home turf since 2013 against Fremantle.
Scott has argued that the location of finals should be determined by the outcome of the competition,despite GMHBA Stadium's relatively small capacity.

His Sydney counterpart John Longmire"absolutely"agreed,reflecting on his team playing finals at Sydney's ANZ Stadium in 2016.
"I think if you’re in the top two,you're absolutely entitled to a home final,"said Longmire.
"We played the first time at the MCG this week ... and it’s a wonderful venue but we’re clear on what we believe similar to what Chris just stated,it’s a national competition and it would be be great to take the biggest game in the land around the place."
A $500 million deal struck between the AFL and Andrews Victorian government in April last year included a number of plans to cement Melbourne's standing as the home of footy,including a $225 million deal with the MCG to guarantee it as the venue for the grand final.
