"We’ve been working with store owners and businesses on Albert Street for the past two years and the feedback from a number of them has been that their sales and customers have actually increased this year,"a Cross River Rail spokesman said.
"We engaged an independent engineering firm to carry out pedestrian counts using cameras at set times.
"The results from this work showed there was no discernible decline in overall daily foot traffic and,in fact, showed that the lunchtime pedestrian movements had increased by approximately 13 per cent."
Premier Annastasia Palaszczuk said on Tuesday Mr Gosens'claim only $1000 was offered was incorrect.
"There are commercial negotiations that have been happening with the owner of that shop, they are commercial negotiations,"she said.
"A lot of other places have actually negotiated with Cross River Rail and have relocated.
"Cross River Rail - and I spoke with[Cross River Rail Minister Kate Jones] last night - are determined to work with people that are impacted because the area is needed for the Cross River Rail.
"The discussions are happening and I hope that they will continue in good faith,as they should."
The Premier said she had"a lot of sympathy"for small businesses.
A food tour group entered Mr Gosens'shop on Tuesday as he was speaking with media and told him they were supporting his fight, which now includes a GoFundMe to raise $100,000.
Staff were visibly distressed as they told the visitors this was the last week the shop would be open.

"It's been horrific in the sense that I know that for the last 10 years we have worked so hard with this business to create the best chocolate in Brisbane,to provide a passion about something which I believe in strongly,"Mr Gosens said.
"For me,obviously to find another store and fit out another store is tens upon tens of thousands of dollars."
