The final is scheduled to begin on March 27 in Wollongong between top-placed NSW and Victoria,which is now locked into second place. However doubt too surrounds that match given the pace at which the situation is escalating.

All three of this week's final-round matches were set to be played behind closed doors even though crowds at Shield matches don't generally attract many more than a few hundred.
