The Prime Minister's staff member did not respond to questions fromThe Sydney Morning Herald andThe Age on Saturday night,but Hardie Grant’s law firm,HWL Ebsworth,said it sent him the “cease and desist” notice late on Saturday.
“I have been instructed you are responsible for unauthorised distribution of my client’s book,A Bigger Picture,in digital form,” wrote HWL Ebsworth partner Nicholas Pullen to the staff member by text and email.
“It has occurred on a massive scale. Further,that you are encouraging others to also distribute it. Such an act is calculated to cause irreparable harm and damage to my clients.
“You must immediately cease this conduct. Furthermore,I hereby provide notice that you must not delete any communications you have made distributing the book and forthwith provide all details of recipients of your communications.
